Meet Emily Taylor…

Rhetoric Chemistry, Health and Nutrition, & Food Science Teacher

Emily was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA before heading to Virginia Tech to pursue a degree in Materials Science Engineering. After graduation she worked for several years as a Metallurgical Engineer at a failure analysis test lab in Atlanta, GA before moving back to Roanoke with her husband Josh to take a job with a local engineering consulting firm. After being blessed with two beautiful children, Stella and Vaughn, Emily switched gears and was able to step back from her engineering job to be a stay-at-home mom and started a health and wellness business from home that continues to flourish today. Homeschooling was an unexpected path but has been such a joy and she is grateful for the opportunity to participate in her own children’s education as well as others through involvement in local co-ops. She is passionate about helping to empower others through health and enjoys cooking, reading, gardening, and spending time with family and friends
