Statement of Faith

Cornerstone Classical Academy embraces a Biblical worldview and seeks to serve God humbly and with a whole heart. While we continually fall short of the glory of God, by grace we seek to strengthen relationships and build one another up to work together for the growth of God’s kingdom. The following is the foundation of beliefs on which Cornerstone Classical Academy rests:

  • We believe that God inspired the very words of the sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments of the Bible. These writings constitute the Word of God, utterly authoritative, without error in the original writings, complete in its revelation of His will for our salvation, our faith, and our practice.

  • We believe there is one God, eternally existent in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

  • We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, and in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.

  • We believe that our Lord is the creator and sustainer of everything and has been made absolutely sovereign over all things. We believe all mankind have been created in His own image, male and female. We believe the covenant of marriage is between one man and one woman. We believe that all life is precious to God. We believe that God is holy, righteous, just, good, loving, and full of compassion.

  • We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life.

  • We believe salvation is by grace through faith alone. This saving faith is in the sacrificial and atoning life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

  • We believe that faith without works is dead. Repentance, obedience to God’s commandments, love, and good works are evidences of saving faith.

  • We believe in the universal church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting.

  • We believe in the spiritual unity of all believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.

These statements of faith are considered primary doctrine at Cornerstone Classical Academy. Other doctrines and issues are considered secondary and are not presented as primary doctrine. When these type of doctrines or issues arise, they are referred back to parents and the church as the final authority for their children. Certain moral issues may be discussed in light of current events, relevance, and their implicit inclusion in Scripture. While CCA teachers take a neutral stance on secondary doctrinal issues, all moral issues are discussed in light of Scripture.

Our mission is to educate students to be followers of Jesus Christ alone. We understand people are at different places in their faith journey. God loves them all and so do we. We have a deep respect for people from other traditions, recognize we can learn from them, and are eager to share our faith with them. We believe that every person is an image bearer of God and should be afforded compassion, love, kindness, empathy, respect, and dignity.

Portions of this statement have been adopted from the National Association of Evangelicals, the Nicene Creed, and the Apostles Creed.
