Meet Barbara Johnson…

Grammar School Reader and Public Speaking Teacher

Born in Memphis, Tennessee, Barbara is a longtime resident of Roanoke and has performed on stage in Tennessee, Texas, and Virginia in theaters, churches, schools, and prisons. Her favorite role will always be as Mary, the mother of Jesus, in Charles Turner's one woman play Woman in Light. Barbara taught acting and communication skills and directed plays for fourteen years in Classical Christian schools in Roanoke, VA and Greensboro, NC. She home schooled with her husband, Craig, for nearly twenty years. She recorded two volumes of Story of the World by Susan Wise Bauer and is a long-time voice-over artist for Blue Ridge Public Television. A founding Board Member of Cornerstone Classical Academy. Barbara's great love is sharing wonder and imagination with children through story.
