Statement of Faith
Cornerstone Classical Academy embraces a Biblical worldview and seeks to serve God humbly and with a whole heart. While we continually fall short of the glory of God, by grace we seek to strengthen relationships and build one another up to work together for the growth of God’s kingdom. The following is the foundation of beliefs on which Cornerstone Classical Academy rests:
We believe that the books of the Old and New Testaments are inspired by God and constitute the Word of God. We believe that the Holy Scriptures are authoritative and trustworthy, revealing God's will for our salvation, faith, and practice.
We believe there is one God, eternally existent in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His sacrifical and atoning death through His shed blood for our salvation, and in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.
We believe that our Lord is the creator and sustainer of all things and is sovereign over all creation. We believe all mankind have been created in His own image, male and female. We believe the covenant of marriage is between one man and one woman, and that all life is precious to God. We believe that God is holy, righteous, just, good, loving, and full of compassion.
We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life.
We believe salvation is by grace through faith alone. This saving faith is in the sacrificial and atoning life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
We believe that a living faith is expressed through repentance, obedience to God’s commandments, love for others, and good works.
We believe in the universal church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting.
We believe in the spiritual unity of all believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.
These statements of faith above represent the primary doctrines affirmed by Cornerstone Classical Academy. Other theological questions and doctrinal differences are considered secondary and not established as primary beliefs of CCA. When these matters arise, we seek to respect the role of parents and their churches in guiding their children’s understanding and faith.
Teachers may address secondary doctrinal questions and moral issues as they arise in the curriculum, classroom discussion, or current events. While CCA teachers do not require students to adopt a particular position on secondary doctrinal matters, moral questions are approached throughtfully and discussed in light of Scripture.
Our Commitment to Students and Families
Our mission is to educate students to follow Jesus Christ and grow in their understanding of the Christian faith. We recognize that individuals and families may be at different places in their faith journeys and come from a variety of Christian traditions. We seek to treat each person with love and grace, recognizing that we, too, are continually growing in our understanding.
We believe that every person is created in the image of God and should be treated with compassion, love, kindness, empathy, respect, and dignity.
Our Statement of Faith reflects historic Christian beliefs as expressed in the Nicene Creed and the Apostles’ Creed, along with additional convictions that guide the mission and educational philosophy of Cornerstone Classical Academy.
