Meet Emily Hook…

Logic Literature and Language Arts Teacher

Emily Hook is a native of Richmond, Virginia, who returned to her home state in 2022.  She and her husband, Matthew, have two daughters.  Emily graduated from Old Dominion University with a Bachelor of Science in biology and a minor in philosophy and religion. After a few years in healthcare, Emily felt the call to serve in Christian ministry and earned a Master of Divinity from Union Presbyterian Seminary. Emily has a heart for counseling and pastoral care and earned a Doctor of Ministry in pastoral counseling in 2024 from Memphis Theological Seminary. Her doctoral research focused on technology addiction within the Christian context. Over the past ten years, she has worked for churches in Arizona, Arkansas, and Virginia.

Following a year of subbing at CCA, Emily recognized her love for teaching. She has always enjoyed literature and writing and is excited to share her passion with the students in the Logic School at CCA.  She believes in the benefits of classical education and is excited to partner with parents to build a strong foundation in reading, writing, and grammar for every student. She hopes to prepare her students for academic success and encourage them to love the Lord and put Him first in their lives.
