Meet Layci Stone…

Grammar School: Second Grade Teacher

Layci is a Roanoke girl, through and through! She was born and raised here in the valley as the youngest of 3 children. Layci attended Byrd High School and Oak Hill Academy, where she graduated. Shortly after that, Layci met her husband, Bret, and they soon began a family that eventually blossomed into a family of 6 over their almost 17 years of marriage. Nekoda, Samuel, Lucy, and Nancy have been integral in Layci and Bret’s sanctification. They are active members of Citylight Church, where they have been attending since their return to Roanoke in 2015.

Layci has experience working in both public and private Christian educational environments where she has served in roles ranging from teacher’s assistant to leading classrooms. Layci is an avid reader and enjoys learning about how the young mind interacts in the world. Layci is passionate about planting the seeds of the love of Christ in her daily educational lessons and watching them grow. Layci has a tender heart for all children and takes great joy in assisting in learning and development.
