Meet Mary Eggleston…

Logic & Rhetoric School Choir Teacher

Mary Eggleston grew up in the Roanoke Valley, graduating from Cave Spring High School.  She’s a Virginia Tech alum, and taught elementary school in Roanoke for over six years before staying home to raise her children.

Mary has enjoyed a long and varied involvement in the local music community, having performed with the Roanoke Valley Choral Society, Roanoke Symphony Chorus, and the Roanoke Opera Society (now Opera Roanoke) in its early years.  She was Assistant Director of the Roanoke College Children’s Choir and a church music director for many years.  Mary recently retired from Hollins University after eighteen years as a voice instructor.

Mary and her husband Doug have been married since 1979 and have two grown children and one delightful grandson.  They worship at Christ the King Presbyterian Church.  When not involved in music, Mary enjoys a wide variety of activities including knitting, swimming, pickleball, and gardening.

Mary is thrilled to have the opportunity to share her love of singing with the children of Cornerstone Classical Academy.
